Dana TeachersCatherine Genno Pagès Roshi
Beginning in 1978, she began traveling throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America, India and Nepal, where she first encountered the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and began practicing in that tradition. Upon returning to Paris in 1982, she met the American Zen master Dennis Genpo Merzel Roshi, who became her teacher. For the next 10 years, she practiced Zen with him in Europe and America, and after completing her formal koan study, she received transmission from him in 1992. In 1994, she founded Dana Zen Center in Montreuil, France, and became one of the first women teaching zen in Europe. On January 16th, 2005, her teacher gave her the final seal of approval (inka). Genno Roshi has been teaching "just sitting" (shikantaza) and koans for over 30 years. She emphazises the importance of interpersonnal relationships, especially in the community of practitionners (sangha). Her teaching includes practices for cultivating compassion and loving kindness, and also the practice of Council Circle, that enables to share authentically.
Michel Genko Dubois Roshi
From 1970 to 1974, Michel Genko Roshi travelled across Africa, hitchhiking, teaching English and doing various odd jobs. His first experience with meditation was in the mountains of northern Ethiopia in 1974.
Michel Genko Roshi is a member and a teacher of the « Zen Peacemakers », an association founded by Bernie Glassman to unite Zen Buddhist practice, social action, and work for peace. He is also the cofounder of the “L’Un Est L’Autre” (One is the Other) humanitarian organization, which distributes meals to the needy in Paris.
He currently teaches Zen at the Dana Zen Center in Montreuil, suburban Paris, and regularly leads retreats in France and Catalonia, Spain. He founded the Group Zen Voie du Coeur ("Zen, A way of the Heart"). He is also a professional translator.

João Cœur Éveillé Rodrigues SenseiBorn in Portugal, João met Genno Roshi in 2002. He has been living at Dana Zen Center, training under Genno Roshi since 2006. In April 2017, he became a Dharma holder. João received Shiho in August 2019. He lives and teaches at the Dana Center in Montreuil.
